SUMMER OF SAN GIMIGNANO 2012

The famous medieval village of San Gimignano, in the heart of Tuscan countryside, this Summer comes alive with many different and exciting events, many of them are admission free. There will be something suitable for every taste!

Artists of national fame, such as the singers Giorgia, scheduled for July 30th and Pino Daniele, on July  28th, who will perform in the attractive and charming Piazza Duomo, surrounded by the towers, symbol of San Gimignano.

In addiction, many opera performances are scheduled not only for lovers of this genre, but also for all the people that simply want to spend an evening with friends. We report you “AIDA”, 27th July and “Barbiere di Siviglia” (Barbier of Seville), Agust 2th. There will also nights dedicated to students representations of music and dance schools, for example “Tutti all’opera – All to work” on June 20th or “Music of the night” on 21th. Moreover, two historical appointments of the Summer of San Gimignano are confirmed also this year:

  • “Notti lucenti- Bright Nights” (June 30th) where San Gimignano will shine. This is a night completely dedicated to the art and culture: world famous artists, such as Max Gazzè, will take a part at the festival.
  • Calici di stelle – Globet of Stars” (August 10th), offers to the visitors the opportunity to enjoy of “the rain of St. Laurence’s tears” with excellent wine.

But all this events will open on June 14th with a good laugh thanks to “Toscanacci..”! A performance that will see on the stage some short passages of a century of Tuscan humor, from dialects to famous florentine actors like Roberto Benigni, Paoli Poli etc.
