Florence Maps – classified by areas

  • Piazza della Libertà: is the square overlooked by the San Gallo Palace. It is the heart of Florentine business, with the largest presence of law offices, insurance companies, doctors and chartered accountants’ offices. In Piazza della Libertà, you can admire the Triumphal Arc that celebrates the Lorena’s family entrance in Florence as owner of the city, after the fall of Medici family.
  • Piazza San Marco: surrounded by elegant buildings, San Marco Square hosts the homonymous Church of San Marco, the Academy of Fine Arts, the Convent and Musem of San Marco, where you will find the famous frescoes by Beato Angelico, and the Museum of Geology and Palaeontology of Florence University.
  • Piazza Santa Croce: Santa Croce Church is considered the Italy’s Pantheon, and it’s a place not-to-be-missed also for the several National and International restaurants located here. Santa Croce square is also the famous place where the Historical Florentine Football is played every year in June. The nearby small streets are the meeting point for young people who live up the city at night.
  • Fortezza Dabbasso: site for several conferences, meetings, concerts, National and International events, it belongs to Florence Fair exhibition centre and it is located just in front of the Congress Centre.
  • Pitti square: dominated by the overshadowing Pitti Palace, is situated at the foot of the magnificent Boboli Gardens.
  • Porta al Prato: part of the ancient Florentine city walls, it is opposite to the the Stazione Leopolda, a large exhibition space and place of meetings. Its also a point of connection between also close to Porta al Prato is affected by the passage of the new Tramway line T1 Florence.
  • Stazione di Santa Maria Novella: located in the historical center of Florence, from there you can reach the real heart of Florence within 3 minutes walking. It also works as a junction between trains departures and arrivals and all urban and extra-urban buses and the tramway.
  • Oltrarno: represents the history of Florence, here are grouped all the shops of the best Florentine craftsmen, the most genuine part of the city, barely touched by the tourists flow.
