May Day accurs on May 1st, during this day is commemorated the trade unions’ engagement and the social and economic achievement of the workers of the world.

May 1st is infact a public holiday oficially recognized throught most of the countries of the world.

May Day takes its origin from the first dimonstration organized in New York on 5th September 1882 by Knights of Labor (an association founded in 1869), but only two years later was settled a resolution to celebrate the event once a year.

The International Workers’ Day is, in particular, the commemoration of the Haymarket Massacre in Chicago 1886, when Chicago police fired on workers during a general strike for the eight hours day, killing several dimonstrator.
