White Night in Florence

White night in Florence: the night of April 30th come into the wee hours of the morning spending time among florentines shops that’ll be open untill 6:00 o’cklok of May 1 and attend to the various events organized in the main squares of the historical centre that’ll animate the whole night!

On friday of April 30 at 7:00 pm the french sociologist Mr. Michel Maffesoli will start off the event with a public lesson about the white night that’ll take place in Palazzo Vecchio, where the manifestation will end at 6:00 am with the Leonardo Romanelli’s monologue (“I wanted to become a confectioner”) in the famous “Salone dei 500” where will be also offered croissants and coffee to the public. Piazza Santa Croce, Piazza del Duomo, Piazza San Lorenzo and Piazza Alberti will host some musical events that you can’t miss: from the Cantori d’opera edited by Maggio to the singularity of the Vienna Vegetable Orchestra (they play vegetables instead of instruments!!), in Piazza Ognissanti, “Carta Bianca” will be the animation project created by the French Institute and the Paris municipality. The Uffizi Gallery and the Medici Galleries may be visited until 24, the museums of Natural History, Bardini and Science History will be opened untill 1:00 am. At the Oblate (important Florentine library), over the musical reading Dostoevskij, Schuman e Chopin, there’ll be an interesting meeting with Desdemona Metus, creator of the unique comic series that have Florence as location (“L’Insonne”) that will gift the public with her comic albums. At Palazzo Strozzi, instead, you can visit to the extraordinary exibition De Chirico, Max Ernst, Magritte, Balhus. A look into the invisible. Piazza San Niccolò (with the aerobatics from the tower) and Santissima Annunziata will be animated all night long and the Modern Art Museum Ex3 can be visited until 4:00 am!
