The Maggio Musicale Fiorentino is a prestigious annual event of operas, concerts and dramas. The Maggio Musicale Fiorentino is merely the result of modern old “joie de vivre” which every year in spring sees its cyclical rebirth and honored by an ancient Florence mainly with dance, music and theatre performances.

The Calendimaggio was an ancient spring festival in Florence, city of flower, and it began on April 30th  with the breakdown of all commercial and craft activities but the beginning of parades and processions through the city, between the joy of the crowd that filled roads, with windows and balconies adorned for the occasion.
