The Museum presents numerous archaeological finds of the area, from Prehistoric times up to the end of the Middle Ages, as well as locally made ceramics found in local excavations.
The ceramics section display presents a wide selection of more than 3,000 restored pieces, all belonging to the museum collections; they document various aspects of the activity of local workshops from the Early Middle Ages to the end of the Modern Period. These artefacts bear witness to the prominence of the clientele visiting the kilns of Montelupo, resulting in a vast and valuable ceramics production of decorative excellence.
